The Field Border Carnations

The field border carnations (LUZULA multiflora) is a plant that belongs to the Russians family (Juncaceae). The plant is native to the temperate regions.


The poll closed-forming plant grows 20-40 cm high and has little or no short rhizomes. The green to reddish basal leaves are 3-6 mm wide and flattened or have been slightly rolled leaf margin. The leaf margin is serrated. At the base of the leaf long white hairs.


Carnations flowers edging the field in April and May The flowers are four to eight globular to oblong flower heads, each with more than ten flowers. The cover is about as long as the head.
